Michael T. Benz handles a wide variety of personal injury matters, including nursing home abuse and neglect, automobile collisions, workplace injuries, and medical malpractice cases. Mike’s belief is that every case should evaluated and prepared for a jury trial. Mike has learned that trial preparation is critical to getting the best result for his clients – even if a case ultimately settles before trial. Mike brings vast trial experience with him to Brown Chiari LLP, having tried hundreds of cases as an Assistant Defender at the nationally recognized Defender Association of Philadelphia, before starting his own private practice in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. As a native “Buffalonian,” Mike and his family returned to Western New York continue their lives and careers in the place where Mike learned the values that he holds dear.
Mike graduated from Drexel University’s Thomas R. Kline School of Law with honors. While in law school he sharpened his trial skills as a member of Drexel’s award-winning mock trial team. Mike won the Texas Young Lawyer’s Association Regional Competition two years in a row, receiving the honor of Best Advocate both years. After graduating he became one of the first graduates to join the Drexel’s mock trial coaching staff as an adjunct professor.
Mike is admitted to practice law in New York and Pennsylvania, as well as the federal districts for the Western District of New York & Eastern District of Pennsylvania, as well as the United States Court of Federal Claims. Additionally, he has been admitted to practice pro hac vice in a number of federal district courts across the country.
When Mike is not hard at work getting results for his clients he enjoys hiking, skiing, and spending time with his wife and three amazing children.
